"5 Hot Tips for Improving Your Summer Photography" by John Barbiaux

July 10, 2016

Tip #2 - Be Specific, Don't Spray and Pray.
Recently, I read an article online entitled "5 Hot Tips for Improving Your Summer Photography" by John Barbiaux.
Tip #2 made me giggle thinking about a recent trip to Savannah.  While riding on the "not-so-slow" trolley through downtown, I used the spray and pray technique.  Praying my lens would auto focus on the right spot, that the person in front of me would move their hand or body out of the way, and praying for an out-of-the-blue snow storm to hit (it is so stinking hot in July).
Barbiaux challenges you to be specific, consider each shot you take...think about whether or not the subject is remarkable enough to take the time to photograph.  So once my feet were firmly planted on the ground, it was game on with time to plan my shots.
